KoreanPOP ("we," "our," or "us") is a Korean language learning app focused on K-pop culture. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. KoreanPOP is designed as a lightweight, educational app — we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Account information (if you register):

• Email address
• Username and display name you choose
• Password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot see your password)
• Favorite K-pop artist and character preferences

Usage data automatically collected:

• Quiz scores and progress
• Study streaks and check-in history
• Virtual room configuration and in-app item ownership
• Language preference

OAuth login (Google / LINE):

• If you sign in with Google or LINE, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider
• We do not receive your password from these providers

We do not collect: location data, contacts, microphone recordings stored to our servers, or payment information (the app has no paid purchases).

• To create and manage your account
• To display your quiz scores on the fandom leaderboard
• To save your virtual room and progress across sessions
• To send you streak reminders (if you opt in to notifications)
• To improve the app experience through aggregated, anonymized analytics

Your account data is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. When you use the Cloudflare-hosted web version, no personal data is stored on our servers beyond what your browser caches locally.

The fandom ranking leaderboard uses aggregated score data only — it does not expose your email address or private information publicly.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

• OAuth providers (Google / LINE): When you choose social login, your authentication is handled by these providers under their own privacy policies
• Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users

KoreanPOP is a general-audience educational app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at support@koreanpop.app and we will delete it promptly.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — update your account information in the app's profile settings
• Deletion — delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by contacting us
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out — withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Cloudflare Pages — website hosting and CDN
• Google Sign-In — optional OAuth login
• LINE Login — optional OAuth login

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
